  • Is your digital footprint killing the planet?

The United Nations have said that climate change is the defining crisis of our time and time is running out. The agreements and compromises that governments reached at the 2021 COP26 Climate change conference in Glasgow, although incredibly important, probably don’t go far enough. There is now a large scientific consensus that humans are the leading cause of climate change.

Many people already know that we all need to play our part and consume, waste and emit less. However, you may not have realised that your online digital activities are not as clean as you might have thought and may have serious consequences for the planet too.

This talk follows the TEDx guidelines and so is less than 18 minutes long.

  • I'm not a number - Being human in the digital age

Colin Corby explores what it is to be human in the digital age and how, by taking back more control, we can have a healthier and more successful relationship with our technology.

It’s not unusual for technology to leave us feeling overwhelmed, stressed and struggling to stay focussed. We feel we need to be always connected and never seem to have time for the things that really matter to us, like careers, relationships, families, and our own health. Left unchecked it can lead to poorer decisions, long term physical and mental health issues and even burnout at work.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. In this talk, Colin will explore some of the ways you can put your technology back in the ‘useful box’ and free you to enjoy the life you deserve.
